Articulating the view of the section of manufacturers, K.E. Raghunathan, managing director of Solkar Solar Industry, argues that the battery-less system would be suitable where there are no power cuts. His point is that when there is no grid power or power supply from the TANGEDCO, the system will not generate electricity. Only when there is grid power, solar power will be fed to the grid. This is why he insists on a rooftop solar power system with battery. An official who is part of the TEDA replies that one has to look at the basic objective behind the installation of rooftop solar power systems. If a consumer wants to address the problem of load shedding, he or she can very well go in for an inverter, which costs around Rs. 15,000. But, the purpose behind selecting such a system is to promote essentially the use of renewable energy. Another issue raised by Mr. Raghunathan is about the availability of energy meters for the solar power systems. The official responds that the meters will be part of the systems to be provided by vendors to beneficiaries.

An on-grid photovoltaic power system, or grid-connected PV system is an electricity generating solar PV system that is connected to the utility grid. A grid-connected PV system consist of solar panels, a power conditioning unit and grid connection equipment. They range from small residential and commercial rooftop systems to large utility-scale solar power stations. Unlike stand-alone power systems, a grid-connected system rarely includes an integrated battery solution, as they are still very expensive. When conditions are right, the grid-connected PV system supplies the excess power, beyond consumption by the connected load, to the utility grid.

It can be any kind of electricity generation. The term off-the-grid (OTG) can refer to living in a self-sufficientmanner without reliance on one or more public utilities.

Hybrid solar systems combines the best from grid-tied and off-grid solar systems. These systems can either be described as off-grid solar with utility backup power, or grid-tied solar with extra battery storage. Hybrid solar systems utilize batter-based grid-tie inverters. Solar pumps are useful where grid electricity is unavailable and alternative sources (in particular wind) do not provide sufficient energy. Solar powered water pumps can deliver drinking water as well as water for livestock or irrigation purposes. Solar water pumps may be especially useful in small scale or community based irrigation, as large scale irrigation requires large volumes of water that in turn require a large solar PV array. As the water may only be required during some parts of the year, a large PV array would provide excess energy that is not necessarily required, thus making the system inefficient.

OFF-GRID INVERTER:

OFF-GRID INVERTEROff-grid or Stand-alone inverters, used in isolated systems where the inverter draws its DC energy from batteries charged by photovoltaic arrays. Many stand-alone inverters also incorporate integral battery chargers to replenish the battery from an AC source, when available. Normally these do not interface in any way with the utility grid, and as such, are not required to have anti-islanding protection

Testing & Commissioning: After completing the testing of all electronic equipments and the solar modules, the system will be integrated. The solar system will be put in to generation after successful completion of installation. The fully commissioned solar system will be rigorously tested and a test certificate will be issued.

Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC): Routine and periodical maintenance of equipments will enhance the life of the equipment. We will extend free maintenance of the plant for the first one year. We will support the customers with our comprehensive annual maintenance schemes.
