Arthur Phillip
Admiral Arthur Phillip RN (October 11, 1738 – August 31, 1814) was a British naval officer and colonial administrator. Phillip was appointed Governor of New South Wales, the first European colony on the Australian continent, and was the founder of the site which is now the city of Sydney. The task of establishing the settlement proved to be a demanding one, as the settlers often faced starvation. Phillip, however, succeeded, and in doing so laid the foundation of what today is the nation state of Australia. The egalitarian spirit of Australia has it origins in the pioneer settlement over which Governor Phillip presided.

Symbols of some of the more common religions
The term religion denotes a set of common beliefs and practices pertaining to the supernatural (and its relationship to humanity and the cosmos), which are often codified into prayer, ritual, scriptures, and religious law. These beliefs and practices are typically defined in light of a shared canonical vocabulary of venerable traditions, writings, history, and mythology. As religious traditions are often deeply embedded into specific cultural contexts, these traditions often contain moral codes that outline the relationships that a believer is expected to cultivate with respect to themselves, other believers, outsiders, and the supernatural world.
